Enduring Legacies

Art belongs

to everyone.

The Shivdutt Das Art Foundation supports artists, preserves cultural heritage, and makes India's creative legacy accessible to all.

We believe India’s creative heritage — past and present — deserves to be seen, celebrated, and supported. We preserve the work of artists and artisans who shaped India’s cultural life, often from behind the scenes.

At the same time, we support living artists by giving them what they need most: time, space, and freedom to create — bringing important work into the light through exhibitions, artist programs, and public access initiatives.

Our Mission

To support education, culture, and public access to India’s rich creative heritage.

The Shivdutt Das Art Foundation (SDAF) is an arts and culture initiative founded by Shivdutt Das—MD, Vishwa Samudra Holdings, and Director, Shivdutt Das Charity Foundation.

SDAF spotlights the artists, artisans, and custodians who have shaped India’s creative life. Through exhibitions, talks, and learning programs, we make their work accessible to all.

Our inaugural exhibition, Timeless Frames, marked the first step in this journey—bringing the work of an unsung hero to the public eye and fostering a dialogue around our shared cultural history.

An SDAF Art Camp

Sixteen artists. Three days. One purpose: to create.

In February 2026, SDAF brings together 16 of India’s most compelling artists at Della Resorts, Lonavala — for three days of uninterrupted creation.

No briefs. No commissions. No constraints. Just time, space, and the company of fellow creators.

The works produced will join the SDAF collection.

Enduring Legacies | Edition 1

Timeless frames

In September 2025, SDAF presented its inaugural exhibition: a tribute to the pioneering cinema photographer Damodar Kamat.

The week-long event brought rare photographs from the 1950s–1980s to public view for the first time — celebrating a son of Maharashtra and an unsung hero of Indian cinema.
